The Detroit Tigers may be resting comfortably at home during the World Series, but some of the team’s prospects are still in action. The rosters for the 2017 Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game were announced Monday afternoon, and Gerson Moreno made the East Division roster. The 6’0”, 175-pound right-hander has made four appearances for the Mesa Solar Sox. Moreno, a native of the Domincan Republic, has a 1.69 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, eight strikeout-per-walk ratio and one save over 5 1⁄3 innings this fall. He finished the 2017 regular minor league season with 66 strikeouts and eight saves over 50 1⁄3 innings in 41 games, across Advanced-A and Double-A ball.
The Fall Stars Game will be broadcast on MLB Network and streamed live on MLB.com on Satruday, Nov. 4 starting at 8 p.m. ET.
Also on the Mesa Solar Sox roster, but not playing in the Fall Stars Game, are right-handed pitchers Zac Houston, Adam Ravenelle, and Spencer Turnbull, infielders Kody Eaves and A.J. Simcox, and outfielder Cam Gibson. Former Tiger and Mud Hen Mike Hessman is a hitting coach for the Solar Sox, as well.
