Scores, news, and notes from the Detroit Tigers’ farm system on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Charlotte Knights 2, Toledo Mud Hens 1 (box)

Ryan Raburn — yes, that Ryan Raburn — hit a two-out single in the top of the ninth to score Willy Garcia and give the Knights a 2-1 lead over the Mud Hens. Charlotte closer Brad Goldberg shut the door in the bottom of the inning to seal the win. The loss was a tough one for Toledo as Warwick Saupold threw his second scoreless outing of the season, including seven strikeouts in six innings. Jason Krizan drove in Toledo’s lone run of the game.

Krizan: 1-4, 2B, RBI, SO
Loney: 1-3, BB, SO
Saupold: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 SO

Coming up next: Chad Bell (0-2, 1.72 ERA) will shoot for his first win of the season as the Mud Hens continue their series against Lucas Giolito (0-2, 6.43 ERA) and the Knights.

Erie SeaWolves 7, Altoona Curve 2 (box)

The Erie offense scored runs in five different innings, cruising to an easy win over Altoona. Christin Stewart and Kody Eaves both homered for the SeaWolves, and Mike Gerber doubled twice and drove in two runs. A.J. Simcox and Gustavo Nunez added two hits apiece as well, as Erie went 5-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Tyler Alexander picked up his first win of the season with a solid outing.

Stewart: 2-4, HR, R, RBI
Gerber: 3-5, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 SO

Lakeland Flying Tigers 9, St. Lucie Mets 5 (box)

Lakeland took the lead for good after a five-run third inning, but it was a late push from the Flying Tigers offense that ultimately delivered a comfortable win. Arvicent Perez led the way with three hits and three RBI, while Joey Pankake homered and doubled to drive in two runs. Zac Shepherd also homered, and eight of nine Lakeland starters reached base. Kyle Dowdy was shaky in his five innings of work, but picked up his first win of the year.

Perez: 3-5, 2B, 3 RBI
Pankake: 3-4, 2B, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, SO
Shepherd: 2-4, HR, 2 R, RBI
Dowdy (W): 5.0 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, BB, 5 SO

Coming up next: Matt Hall (1-2, 5.11 ERA) will start for Lakeland on Wednesday as they continue their series with the Mets.

West Michigan Whitecaps 12, Fort Wayne TinCaps 3 (box)

Kyle Funkhouser was brilliant, striking out nine hitters in six shutout innings for the Whitecaps. The bullpen made things close momentarily when they allowed three runs in the seventh, but the West Michigan offense exploded for six runs in the bottom of the inning to put things out of reach. Josh Lester and Blaise Salter had three hits apiece for the Whitecaps. Will Savage led all hitters with three RBI.

Lester: 3-4, 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI
Salter: 3-5, 2B, 3 R
