Fresh off a call-up from Double-A Erie, Anthony Vasquez earned his first win with the Mud Hens after posting a quality start against the Braves. Vasquez struck out seven and walked one in six innings of work, though he did allow two home runs. The Mud Hens offense was in high gear as well, collecting six doubles among their 12 hits. JaCoby Jones had three of those knocks, along with three RBI. J.D. Martinez also drove in a run but struck out three times.

The SeaWolves scored a pair of late runs off the Harrisburg bullpen to steal a road win. Gabriel Quintana led Erie with four RBI, including a game-tying home run in the top of the eighth. Three others also had multi-hit games, and the Seawolves managed 10 hits in all. Jairo Labourt coughed up a pair of runs in relief, but Kurt Spomer and Ruben Alaniz shut the door late.

St. Lucie Mets 9, Lakeland Flying Tigers 1 (box)

Sandy Baez had a bad day on Tuesday, allowing seven runs on nine hits in just 2 13 innings for Lakeland. He did not strike out a batter. Eight of the nine St. Lucie starters had hits, and many doubled up in the 15-hit effort. Lakeland wasn’t able to mount much of an offensive charge on their end, finishing with just four hits. Zac Shepherd had two of them, including a solo home run.

Hinkle: 1-2, 2B, 2 BB
Baez (L): 2.1 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 2 BB

Peoria Chiefs 3, West Michigan Whitecaps 1 (box)

Whitecaps starter Eudis Idrogo was sharp, limiting the Chiefs to six hits in seven innings of work. His offense did him no favors, though.
