This week’s FanPost Friday prompt is this: Why are you a fan of the Detroit Tigers?
Each and every one of us has a reason we’re a fan — even if we question our fandom during difficult times. Ashley told her story last week.
You might be a brand new fan, just learning about the game within the last year or two. Or was 2006 your rookie season, when the Tigers went to the World Series for the first time in 22 years? Maybe you go back to the 1990s, when Cecil Fielder manned first base? Maybe you became a fan when Sparky Anderson led the team to a World Series championship in 1984. Perhaps Mark “The Bird” Fidrych is the reason for your fandom. Or maybe it goes back even further than that, to Al Kaline, or even earlier.
Regardless of how long you’ve been a fan, or how you initially became a fan, we want to hear about it.
Tell us your story!
