Jose Iglesias nearly kicks the ump in the face, holds on for the out

Umpire Mark Carlson stood up and made the play

Ever the professional, umpire Mark Carlson nearly lost his face but held his composure long enough to call White Sox second baseman Yolmer Sanchez out. The play came in the third inning when Sanchez tried to steal second base. Jose Iglesias caught the ball, avoided being taken out by Sanchez, but spun around and nearly booted Carlson in the head.

Here’s a breakdown of the play, because it happens fast.
