Royals A Lot, Tigers A Little: We’re not even watching the end of this

The Royals are up by a bazillion runs so we’re just going to publish the recap now.

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Fulmer didn’t have his best start on Thursday. In fact, it was probably the worst of his young career. He recorded just eight outs, and allowed eight runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk. The Detroit Tigers defense kicked the ball around in the first inning, committing three errors before Fulmer could even record three outs.

Amazingly, there was still some #FalseHope for a large chunk of the game. Detroit scored three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to cut their deficit in half. However, the Royals poured it on after that, with four runs in the bottom of the sixth and four more in the eighth.

If you’re looking for positives here... there aren’t many. Daniel Stumpf didn’t allow a run in 1 23 innings, and Mikie Mahtook continued to swing a hot bat with two more hits. Dixon Machado also got an at-bat, which was a rarity in the first half of the year. Oh yeah, and Miguel Cabrera had a run-scoring single in the sixth inning for the 1,600th RBI of his career.

However, it’s currently 16-4. This game is over, and we’re not staying up to watch the end of it.
