We might create a GoFundMe account to help pay for Ian Kinsler’s impending fine after his comments about awful umpire Angel Hernandez on Tuesday. He will surely be hearing from the league office soon.
Kinsler was ejected from Monday’s game for, well, you can watch the video and try to figure it out yourself. Apparently taking a ball and looking back to check that Hernandez got the call right after he so horribly blew the strike call before it.
Kinsler apparently hoped that Hernandez would do something akin to his f**king job.
Anyway, that was Monday. Tuesday, reporters asked Kinsler if he was surprised at how quickly he was tossed. Kinsler’s retort was the belief that Hernandez is horrible at his job — a belief held by many fans as well, and probably his bosses given the lack of promotion — and ‘blatantly messing with the game’:
“No, I’m surprised at how bad an umpire he is,” Kinsler said. “I don’t know how, for as many years he’s been in the league, that he can be that bad. He needs to reevaluate his career choice, he really does. Bottom line.”
Kinsler was asked if he was speaking on the record.
“Sure,” he said. “If I get fined for saying the truth, then so be it. He’s messing with baseball games, blatantly.”
...
“This has to do with changing the game,” Kinsler said. “He’s changing the game. He needs to find another job. He really does.”
Kinsler was asked if he felt Hernandez was just biased against him.
"No," he said. "He's just that bad."
