Toledo Mud Hens 2, Norfolk Tides 1 (box)
Anthony Vasquez had the Tides hitting it in all the right places on Sunday. Despite just a pair of strikeouts, he went eight innings of scoreless baseball, scattering seven hits. Edward Mujica picked up his fifteenth save despite giving up a run in the bottom of the ninth. Jeimer Candelario had a double and drove in a run, while Omar Infante collected a pair of doubles to pace the offense out of the leadoff spot.

Bowie Baysox 6, Erie SeaWolves 5 (box)
The SeaWolves rallied late, pushing across two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to make it close, but they couldn’t complete the comeback. Starter A.J. Ladwig was undone by a four-run fourth inning. Christin Stewart had a huge day, cracking his 26th home run of the year en route to a three RBI day at the plate. Mike Gerber homered as well, while Dawel Lugo, Will Maddox and A.J. Simcox all chipped in with multi-hit games in the losing effort.

Josh Turley out-dueled our old friend Jonathan Crawford on Sunday. Turley struck out eight, allowing two runs across six innings of work. Fernando Perez and Zac Houston closed things out in style with three innings of no-hit ball between them. Jake Robson doubled, scored a run, and drove in one as well from the leadoff spot. Cam Gibson doubled and scored a run while drawing a pair of walks on the day.

West Michigan Whitecaps 15, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4 (box)
After a few quiet games for the offense, the Whitecaps got back on track Sunday, thrashing the Hot Rods with a 20 hit attack. Chad Sedio remained red hot, launching a pair of home runs. Derek Hill homered, doubled, scored three runs, and drove in a pair. Dylan Burdeaux went five for five on the day, with a pair of doubles and a home run of his own. Matt Manning got back on track with a better outing, striking out seven while giving up three runs in 4 1⁄3 innings of work.

Ryan Castellanos gave the Tigers five decent innings of work, allowing three runs, two earned. Unfortunately his relief continued to leak runs, blowing an early lead. Jordan Pearce and Luke Burch had two hits each, while Hector Martinez’ double was the Tigers only extra base hit on the day.
