Toledo Mud Hens 8, Columbus Clippers 3 (box)
With a run already in, Bryan Holaday launched a three-run home run in the first inning, and the Hens never looked back. In the fourth inning, it was Jeimer Candelario with a two-run double to cap off another four run inning and make it 8-0. Myles Jaye went six innings and kept the Clippers in check despite four walks. Kyle Ryan was dinged up for three in the seventh inning, but Logan Kensing and Bryan Garcia slammed the door.
Candelario: 2-4, R, 2 RBI, 2B, 2 SO
Holaday: 3-4, R, 3 RBI, HR
Jaye (W): 6.0 IP, 6 H, 4 BB, 3 SO
Coming Up Next: Buck Farmer (6-4, 3.93 ERA) starts Thursday on Holy Toledo Thursday-Pride Night in Hensville Park.
Erie SeaWolves 1, Richmond Flying Squirrels 0 (F/12) (box)
Matt Hall was electric in this one, striking out seven Squirrels in seven innings. Hall allowed just three hits though he did walk four. The SeaWolves needed Hall’s strong outing, as they too were kept off the board for eleven innings. Mark Ecker’s two innings of scoreless work with three strikeouts was the bullpen’s standout performance. Finally in the twelfth, Christin Stewart singled and advanced to second when Dawel Lugo reached on a error. Steven Moya then hammered a double off the wall in right field for the walkoff winner.
