For seven innings, the Detroit Tigers offense couldn’t get anything going against Baltimore Orioles starter Kevin Gausman. That all changed in the eighth inning. The Tigers put a pair of runners on, moved them over with a swinging bunt, and then Jim Adduci loaded the bases with a walk.
Then, Justin Upton happened.

Upton’s seventh career grand slam (and third of the year!) gave the Tigers a 5-2 lead in the top of the eighth, and put Justin Verlander in line for his seventh win of the year.
