Bless You Boys makes its 2018 MLB playoffs predictions

I don’t know if I can link Andy Williams’ classic holiday single and proclaim how awesome October is — Opening Day is the true “most wonderful time of the year” — but the start of the MLB playoffs is always a special day on the baseball calendar. The MLB Wild Card Games have added a heaping dose of excitement to the festivities as well, and are a wonderful appetizer to the feast that is the Division Series.

But before everything gets started with Rockies-Cubs on Tuesday, it’s prediction time! The Bless You Boys staff tried their best to predict what would happen last year, and many struck gold when former Tigers ace Justin Verlander led the Houston Astros to the promised land (someone even picked a perfect bracket!).

This year, it feels tougher. The field is absolutely loaded on both sides, with three 100-win teams in the American League and a wide open National League. There isn’t quite as much sentiment for Verlander and the Astros this time around either. We also added a World Series MVP category, just to make things a bit tougher.
