Tigers prank Ron Gardenhire with ‘Buddy’ jerseys

Spring training can be a struggle. Especially when you’re a new manager to a team with few remaining stars. Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire found this out last week within the first few days of camp. According to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press, Gardenhire joked on Wednesday that “If you don’t wear a jersey, I won’t know your name and it might be all the way to the start of the season. So If I call you, ‘Hey, buddy,’ then I probably don’t know your name.”

Naturally, the players decided to take that quote to heart and pull a prank on their manager.

The Tigers posted the short video clip on the official team Instagram account, and pitcher Alex Wilson reposted with the caption “#Gothiiiiiim,” verifying the players themselves were behind the prank.

At least they kept their numbers?
