Florida Southern Moccasins vs. Detroit Tigers

Time: 1:05 p.m.
Place: Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland, Florida
How to “watch”: MLB GameDay. As usual, there won’t be a TV or radio broadcast of this exhibition, but you can follow along with some of the action through an actual GameDay thingy. Not all of the action, though. Just whatever the intern can keep up with.

Feel free to make jokes about crashing the FSC website, though. That’s just tradition.

Things we know

The Mocs are undefeated, at 10-0 on the season. They have scored 69 runs on the season, and are hitting .307/.394/.506 with 18 home runs as a team. Junior outfielder Hayden Marze leads the team with five homers and 14 RBI in 35 at-bats. Infielder Omar Villaman has the best batting average and on-base percentage on the team, at .472 and .537. Seven Mocs already have 10 hits or more on the year, and five are slugging .500 or better. Senior Logan Browning has started three of the team’s 10 games, winning two. He has a 1.40 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 19 13 innings.

The Tigers beat the Mocs 8-0 last year behind strong pitching performances from Myles Jaye and Sandy Baez, among others.

Mocs hitters will be understandably distracted by the bounce house from hell in center field.

Jim Adduci is still around.
