The Detroit Tigers won’t be playing any baseball on Saturday, as their afternoon game against the New York Yankees has already been postponed. The two teams will try to play a doubleheader on Sunday, but the forecast doesn’t look great.
Friday’s forecast was for clear skies, but the Tigers and Yankees provided a downpour of dingers instead. The best of the bunch, in our not-so-objective opinion, was this 440-foot moonshot from third baseman Jeimer Candelario.
Candelario has showed more than just flashes of his potential in his time with the Tigers, but we haven’t seen power like this yet. While he may never be a 30-homer slugger, knowing that Candelario has the pop to leave any ballpark in the majors is a nice little comfort as the Tigers progress through their rebuild.
