Toledo Mud Hens 2, Durham Bulls 1 (box)
Ryan Carpenter shrugged off an early run to post a dominant outing, and a couple of late runs sealed a 2-1 win for the Mud Hens. Carpenter allowed just the one run on five hits in six innings, and struck out nine Bulls hitters along the way. Kevin Comer picked up the win in relief, striking out five of the six batters he faced. Christin Stewart’s solo home run in the seventh inning provided the difference for Toledo offensively, even though they were held to just three hits.
Stewart: 1-3, HR, R, RBI, 2 SO
Lugo: 1-4, R
Carpenter: 6.0 IP, 5 H, ER, 2 BB, 9 SO
