The Los Angeles Dodgers were dealt some awful news on Monday. All-Star shortstop Corey Seager will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the rest of the season, leaving a huge hole in their infield.
This news probably isn’t factoring into Jose Iglesias’ play in Detroit tonight, but either way, Iglesias has been having a whale of a game so far. He lined a double down into the right field corner that might have been a triple were it not for fan interference. He made a nice leaping catch on a soft liner from Tampa Bay Rays catcher Jesus Sucre.
And he made this ridiculous diving catch to rob C.J. Cron of a sure hit.
There are baseball highlights, and then there's this from @JoseIglesias_SS. pic.twitter.com/bnuAtrMd6F

Whether Iglesias becomes trade fodder or not, here’s hoping he continues to make highlight reel plays like this in his final season in a Tigers uniform.
