Louisville Bats 2, Toledo Mud Hens 1 (box)
Artie Lewicki locked up in a pretty good pitching duel with the Bats’ Robert Stephenson on Friday night but ultimately fell a bit short. Lewicki tossed 6 1⁄3 innings with eight strikeouts, allowing two runs. A Ronny Rodriguez solo shot in the fourth was the only offense, as the Hens were limited to just three hits.
Rodriguez: 2-4, HR, R, RBI
Lewicki (L): 6.1 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO
Coming up next: Ryan Carpenter (1-3, 5.01 ERA) takes on the Bats at 6:35 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Erie SeaWolves 8, Akron RubberDucks 2 (box)
Beau Burrows wasn’t terribly efficient on Friday, but with some help he was effective enough to get through five innings. Fortunately, the offense went off in a big way, and the SeaWolves cruised to victory. Will Maddox had a double and a triple, driving in a pair of runs, while Sergio Alcantara put together a three-hit game. Zac Houston and Jeff Thompson wrapped up the final four innings in relief.
Maddox: 2-4, 2B, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SO
Alcantara: 3-4, R, SO
Burrows (W): 5.0 IP, H, R (0 ER), 3 BB, 3 SO

St. Lucie Mets 11, Lakeland Flying Tigers 2 (box)
Alex Faedo was mauled for eight runs in just two innings of work. His outing opened with five straight hits, three of them of the extra base variety. It didn’t get much better in the second inning. Spenser Watkins came on and saved the Flying Tigers’ bullpen by tossing 5 1⁄3 innings of three-run ball. Isaac Paredes and Danny Woodrow had the Flygers’ RBI for the evening.
Woodrow: 2-4, R, RBI, SO
Paredes: 1-3, R, BB, SO
Faedo (L): 2.0 IP, 10 H, 8 ER, 2 SO
Coming up next: Austin Sodders (1-2, 4.46 ERA) will take on Gary Cornish (1-1, 3.60 ERA) in St. Lucie at 6:35 p.m. ET.
West Michigan Whitecaps, Burlington Bees (postponed)
The Whitecaps and Bees were rained out on Friday evening. They will play back-to-back games on Saturday instead. Eudis Idrogo (1-2, 0.60 ERA) is schedule to start game two for the Whitecaps. No other starters have been announced as yet.
