We celebrated Niko Goodrum’s first home run on Monday night against the Cleveland Indians, and for good reason. It was a massive homer that cleared the fence in the deepest reaches of Comerica Park. It came off Indians starter Carlos Carrasco, who has dominated the Tigers for the past few years. Most importantly, it gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead over their hated division rivals.
Goodrum misplayed a fly ball in the eighth leading to a Cleveland run, but made up for his miscue in the ninth with another bomb.
Wooooof, that ball was destroyed. pic.twitter.com/m0BzQMT6k9

That’s two absolute moonshots for Goodrum on the night, and four home runs for the year.
