Toledo Mud Hens: off day
The Hens were off on Monday after 17 consecutive days of baseball. The first place Mud Hens (23-12) will take on the Charlotte Knights on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. ET. Josh Turley (2-1, 3.86 ERA) will start against Dylan Covey (3-1, 2.76 ERA).
Binghamton Rumble Ponies 6, Erie SeaWolves 5 (box)
Erie jumped out to an early lead and padded it with a run in the fifth, but relievers Jeff Thompson and Zac Houston combined to allow four runs in the sixth and seventh. Houston took the loss, his first of the year, after Erie’s offense couldn’t tie the score in the final couple innings. Jake Rogers had a big game for Erie, collecting three hits, including his first home run of the year. Will Maddox also had a big game with four hits. Starter Kyle Funkhouser wasn’t particularly efficient, but had a solid outing with two runs (one earned) in five innings. He struck out seven.

Lakeland Flying Tigers 9, Charlotte Stone Crabs 4 (box)
The Flying Tigers scored all nine of their runs in the eighth inning, capping off a comeback win over the Stone Crabs. Chad Sedio, Cole Bauml, and Austin Athmann had two hits apiece, and the Flygers finished with 10 hits on the game. They also benefited from six walks by Charlotte pitching, two of which came with the bases loaded. Starter Anthony Castro was a bit wild with four walks in five innings, but the Lakeland bullpen clamped down, allowing just one run in four frames.

Fort Wayne TinCaps 5, West Michigan Whitecaps 3 (box)
The Whitecaps scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but fell quiet after that as they dropped their series opener against Fort Wayne. Left fielder Dylan Rosa hit a two-run homer, and Reynaldo Rivera also drove in a run. Starter Garett King lasted just two innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Reliever Burris Warner took the loss after giving up an unearned run in the third.
