I think it’s safe to say we all have a warm place in our heart for our home stadiums. Even those who grew up watching Detroit Tigers games at Ye Olde Tiger Stadium — even when it was Navin Field or Briggs Stadium — would likely rather spend a day at Comerica Park than anywhere else in the world.
That said, there are 29 other ballparks out there. If you’re anything like me, you’re on a mission to see how the other half lives, where the other half, in this scenario, is our competition.
For me, I live in the middle of Canada, with no immediate easy access to a stadium for those lovely afternoons when I’d like to skip out of the office and get a cold beer and watch my team play. That’s why I tend to be partial to Target Field in Minneapolis. At a mere seven hour drive from my house, it’s as close to a “home” stadium as I get.
Other gems I’ve loved in my travels are Dodger Stadium, Kauffman Stadium (do the tour if you go, it’s well worth it!), Wrigley Field, and PNC Park (that view!). To date, I’ve visited 14 of the 30 current MLB stadiums and as of this writing am en route to see three more.
So how many major league parks have you visited? And of them, which is your favorite (other than Comerica Park)?
Head over to the FanPosts section, select “New FanPost” on the left, and tell us about how many parks you’ve ticketed off the bucket list.
