It isn’t quite J.D. Martinez’s nuclear performance in April 2014, but Christin Stewart is off to a hot, hot start with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens. Stewart hit his seventh home run of the season on Monday evening, and his 14th extra-base hit in just 28 games.

Better yet, the homer was a two-run bomb that (a) gave Toledo a 2-1 lead, and (b) came off lefthander Adam Wilk, a former Tigers prospect. Stewart has hit fairly well against lefties so far this year, batting .269/.345/.423 in 29 plate appearances. He also managed an .822 OPS against southpaws at Double-A Erie last year. This was his first homer of the year off a left-handed pitcher.
