Toledo Mud Hens
The 40-28 Hens got a rest on Monday. They traveled to Gwinnett, where they’ll open up a three-game set against the Stripers. Artie Lewicki takes the mound for the Hens on Tuesday night. He’ll be opposed by Max Fried.
Erie SeaWolves vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats (postponed)
After a weekend sweep of the Trenton Thunder, the SeaWolves also had Monday off, but it was due to heavy rain in Erie. They’ll play two with the Fisher Cats on Tuesday. Things will get underway at 4:35pm ET. Sandy Baez is scheduled to take on T.J. Zeuch in the nightcap on the SeaWolves’ website, but according to their Twitter account, both Beau Burrows and the newly promoted Alex Faedo are supposed to pitch in the doubleheader.
#Tigers Alex Faedo slated for his Double-A debut on Tuesday. https://t.co/x1pDVyCqSv

Toronto Blue Jays starter, Marcus Stroman, was set to make a rehab start on Monday night, but it appears that he’ll make his next start in the major leagues, rather than pitch on Tuesday.
Marcus Stroman is, according to him, "back".

"Next start in the big leagues with the squad," Stroman wrote in a tweet on the popular social media website "Twitter dot com". #BlueJays
Charlotte Stone Crabs 5, Lakeland Flying Tigers 4 (F/11)(box)
Liarvis Breto started, and was pretty good for 5 1⁄3 innings, but the bullpen was shaky behind him. Anthony Pereira hit a solo shot and Danny Pinero doubled twice to pace the Flying Tigers’ attack. They took a 3-2 lead into the ninth, but Drew Carlton blew the save, and the game eventually got away from them in eleven.
Pinero: 3-5, R, RBI, 2 2B, SO
Wilson: 2-5, R, RBI, SO
Breto: 5.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, BB, 6 SO
Coming Up Next: Spenser Watkins is set to take on the Stone Crabs’ Benton Moss on Tuesday at 5:00pm ET.
West Michigan Whitecaps
The Midwest League All-Star game is set for 7:05pm ET on Tuesday. The Lansing Lugnuts are this year’s hosts. Infielder Cole Peterson and pitcher Brandyn Sittinger are the only Whitecaps representatives.
The Whitecaps first half didn’t feature a whole lot of standout performances, but a few hitters and pitchers made their mark.
- Dylan Rosa lead the team in home runs, with seven in 196 at bats.
- Reynaldo Rivera leads the team with an .808 OPS, a solid walk rate, and leads the team with 18 doubles.
- Matt Manning led the team with 68 strikeouts in 48 2⁄3 innings.
The Whitecaps finished third in the Eastern Division in the first half. They were 11 1⁄2 games back of the first place Binghamton Rumble Ponies. They’ll get the second half underway on Thursday, with Elvin Rodriguez slated for a road start against the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
Connecticut Tigers vs. Vermont Lake Monsters (postponed)
Opening Day was rained out moments after the game got underway on Monday. They’ll play two on Tuesday to make up for it.
Seven pitches... then suspended. Tonight's game in Vermont will resume on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. The nine-inning game on Tuesday will be immediately followed by a seven-inning game. Radio coverage begins at 5:50 p.m. with @GehlTales on @WICH1310. https://t.co/jUhJ8jqNh5

The era of DeathRage begins
The Tigers got a quality baseball name with their 10th round pick out of NC State. Brock Deatherage made his pro debut with authority on Monday, cranking three solo shots to lead GCL Tigers West to a 9-3 win over the Yankees East. The centerfielder has tools. He’s got plus speed, and he can throw and hit for some power. His hit tool is generally regarded as a bit of a mess, but for a 10th rounder there’s plenty of athleticism to work with. Friend of BYB, Chris Brown of Tigstown, had thoughts on the matter.
Brock Deatherage just hit his 3rd bomb of the day. So in case you're wondering about the competition level in the GCL...it's significantly lower than the ACC.

Not that any of you are going to listen, but the pronunciation of Brock Deatherage's last name is DEATH-ER-RIDGE.
— Emily Waldon (@EmilyCWaldon) June 18, 2018
Carry on calling him #DeathRage.
That’s just the way it is, Emily.
