FanPost Friday: Who is the greatest Tigers player of all time?

The Tigers have been playing for over a hundred years, and in that time some of the biggest names of baseball history got infield dirt on the Olde English D. Ty Cobb. Hank Greenberg. Hal Newhouser. In fact, if you take a look at the names on the outfield wall (and those not included on it), it might seem almost impossible to narrow down the “Best” to only one choice.

So you can have five.

Look through the Tigers of yore (and even those still playing... but maybe for teams in Texas), and tell us who you think the best Tigers of all time were, and why. That’s the big one, explain your picks. If Andy Dirks is one of your favorite Tigers ever, that’s cool, but we want to know why you picked him.
