Alan Trammell dedicates part of his Hall of Fame speech to Lou Whitaker

“My hope is someday you will be up here as well.”

You knew this was coming. On the day that Alan Trammell was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, he reserved part of his speech for his long-time double play partner, second baseman Lou Whitaker. Tigers fans have screamed for years to put both players into the Hall, and Trammell was able to bring a piece of that old magic with him in his speech on Sunday.

Now let’s make it official already, huh?

We’ll get Trammell’s and Jack Morris’ full speeches on the site when they become available.
