The Tigers currently have this game against the Rangers on lockdown. That doesn’t mean the pitching staff doesn’t appreciate a bit of help now and again. You may remember the incredible home run robbing catch that Blue Jays center fielder, Kevin Pillar, made on Nicholas Castellanos last week. On Saturday, JaCoby Jones may have done him one better. Not only did he have to run a long way, but the ball was curving away from him, and he had to meet the wall on an angle to make this spectacular play on Adrian Beltre in the sixth inning.
Jones? JOOOONES!?!? #LARCENY! @JacobyJones23 takes a homer away from Adrian Beltre. Wowzers! We're bringing you all of the highlights on FSD & #FSGO! https://t.co/l2s1JLgClq pic.twitter.com/u5tyOJEHut

Jones is tied for 13th in all baseball in Statcast’s outs above average (OAA) category with six. That play is going to move him back up the board again. Jones played some receiver as a football player back in the day. Looks like he’s still got those big playmaking skills on hand. Even Adrian Beltre had to smile and shake his head at that one.
