James McCann lost a bet on the College World Series, and he’s paying for it

Like his alma mater, McCann came up on the losing end of this exchange.

The Arkansas Razorbacks lost the 2018 College World Series in heartbreaking fashion. They had a chance to win a national title, with just one out remaining in Game 2 of the best-of-three series. They even generated a weak pop-up to foul territory, but...

Those that followed along know what happened next. Oregon State game back to win the game, forcing a winner-take-all Game 3. The Beavers won that matchup comfortably to win their third national title since 2006.

There’s a Tigers connection here. James McCann and Matthew Boyd went to Arkansas and Oregon State, respectively. As you might imagine, they had a friendly wager attached to the outcome of the series, which Boyd clearly won.

At least the beaver costume is relatively tame, right? We can only imagine what Boyd would have had to wear if Arkansas had caught that pop-up.
