Who does Al Av sign this winter to trade at next year's deadline

1) Mike Moustakas, now of the Brewers, formerly of the Royals. Moose has a loyal following in KC and it's a good bet the Brewers aren't going anywhere so he should be available. He waited out the free agent market this past winter and all for naught. He would make a good fill-in for VMart and could fill Stewart's spot until the end of July. By then he should be able to play 1st as an occasional sub for Miggy, as well as DH and give Jeimar some relief at 3rd. Just the recipe for trade bait.

2) Carlos Gonzalez who re-upped with the Rockies this year after finding the FA Market uninterested in him. He's a Rocky Legend who they tried to get rid of last winter. He came back cheap and is having a decent, if unspectacular, year for the contending Rockies. The Rockies have a stream of guys coming up, the product of dreadful past finishes and decent draft choices so they will probably not re-up CarGo this winter. An outfield place holder until the youth movement comes to fruition or July 31st, whichever first occurs.

3) Jose Bautista, Joey Bats, see CarGo, above, except a right-handed bat. He'll come cheap again this winter and will have some value in July.

4) Curtis Granderson, see CarGo and Joey Bats, above. The difference is that he would be welcomed by the fans as a prodigal son come home to the D. And he could probably be turned over for a pitching prospect or two in July.

5) Austin Jackson, aka AJax, see 2through 4 above. We only have room for one of these 4 guys so take your pick. I would prefer CarGo because he would probably bring more in a trade, but Grandy and AJax would be popular with the fan-base.

6) Manny Machado. Just kidding. He would solidify the left side of the infield and allow Iggy to move to 2nd and be the building block of the future, but the ownership isn't going to commit to 5 or 6 years at 28-30 million a year unless the team is within a game or two of the World Series.

All other suggestions welcome in the comments. Then have Rob or one of the other front pagers sent it to Al.
