FanPost Friday: Here’s your chance to re-do the Tigers’ trade deadline

That was boring, let’s fix it.

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals Peter G. Aiken

Well.

That certainly was a trade deadline.

As we watched with breathless excitement, refreshing Twitter all day, seeing which trades would be next, a lot of different emotions swirled around among Detroit Tigers fans. Rumor had it the team would move no one, which seemed impossible given their intent to rebuild. Then, midway through the day, we learned Leonys Martin had been traded to the Cleveland Indians for shortstop prospect Willi Castro. Surely more moves were coming!

None came.

The Tigers sat out the trade deadline for the most part, and some argue it was a mistake. Others suggest Al Avila simply didn’t hear any offers he wanted to bite on, and he would wait until teams were really desperate at the end of August or during the offseason. He, it seems, was in no hurry.

For those of us who wanted to see some action, it was pretty boring.

With that in mind, our FanPost Friday prompt this week (the first of August!) is: what would you have done differently at the trade deadline?

Head over to the FanPosts section and select “New FanPost” on the left, then tell us your brilliant trade plan now that you’ve seen what other teams gave up and got in return.

And stay tuned later today, because we are now starting a new monthly post where we feature the best FanPosts from the previous month. You guys were busy in July!
