We had an incredible FanPost this week from Miggy24Cabby that went into some truly spectacular detail assessing what a potential Detroit Tigers roster might look like in 2022. And earlier this year, the Seattle Mariners had a fun “Turn Ahead the Clock” event that supposed what the team might look like taking the field in the future. (Side note: what’s fun about Turn Ahead the Clock is it was actually a throwback to an event 20 years earlier.)
Somewhere between actual analysis and pure fantasy lies the heart of this week’s FanPost Friday prompt. We want you to tell us how you envision the Tigers five years from now. Your vision can be strictly prospect based, assessing which starting pitchers are still with the club, and which now “veteran” players might still be around.
Or, if you like a little light sci-fi, perhaps you would rather just imagine what baseball itself looks like five years down the road. There seem to be new think pieces every day suggesting a myriad of ways baseball can be made “better.” What changes do you think will have taken effect. Will the playoffs look different? How many teams and divisions will there be, and where will the Tigers fit in that? Will the ‘D’ on their uniform have gotten 45 percent bigger?
Head over to the FanPost section and select “New FanPost” on the left, then tell us how you see things changing for the Tigers over the next five years. And if you need inspiration, that Miggy24Cabby post is an incredible place to start.
