Good morning. JaCoby Jones raced home from second base after a dropped third strike in Friday’s 5-4 Detroit Tigers wins over the evil Cleveland Indians, and it is still just as awesome on Saturday morning. Let’s watch it again.
Jones showed off all of his talents on Friday, including game-changing ability on the basepaths. He stole second base on Cleveland’s Yan Gomes — no easy feat — to set up the game-winning run, and his aggressive mentality paid off with a necessary insurance run.
Here’s a better way to put it. Jones is hitting just .209/.262/.380 in 424 plate appearances this season (a 73 OPS+) but is still worth 2.4 WAR in 117 games.
