Dawel Lugo has been something of a controversial player in the Detroit Tigers system this year. Some like his hands and batting average while others — nah, let’s not go there. Instead, just enjoy this moment. Lugo hit the first home run of his career on Friday evening, a two-run shot off All-Star reliever Josh Hader.

Lugo pinch-hit for second baseman Harold Castro, and his dinger broke a long streak for the Tigers.
Lugo's HR was Tigers' first pinch-hit HR since Victor Martinez hit one on Sept. 22, 2016.

And one more, just for fun.
Per @EliasSports, @LugoDawel is the first Tigers player to have his first big league homer come in a pinch hitting role since Tyler Collins on September 1, 2014 at Cleveland.
