We are just a few minutes away from the start of the 2019 MLB Playoffs! While the Detroit Tigers aren’t involved yet again, this year’s field promises to be one of the most talented and competitive we have ever seen. The Washington Nationals will take on the Milwaukee Brewers in Tuesday’s NL Wild Card Game, and the Oakland Athletics will host the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Then, it’s on to the Division Series, and beyond.
Over the past few years, the Bless You Boys staff has offered its picks for the postseason. They aren’t always correct, but are a fun way for us to stay engaged (and look wrong on the internet) throughout the next month.
Once again, we see the Houston Astros as heavy favorites. Five of the eight staff members that made predictions last year picked Houston to win it all, while only one (yup, this guy) picked the Red Sox to take home the Commissioner’s Trophy. This year, seven of 11 staff members to make picks think the Astros will bring home another championship.
And none picked the Twins, because f*** those guys.
