Starting in 2020, you may notice a change to the Detroit Tigers uniforms. No, they haven’t messed with the Olde English D this time (as far as we know). The caps are staying the same — though we can’t say the same for their usual spring training atrocities — and they aren’t changing colors or anything weird like that.
But, depending on your point of view, this might be a huge deal.

Nike is now the exclusive provider of all uniforms and other garb for Major League Baseball, meaning the swoosh is here to stay. You may love it or hate it, but... well, most of the internet hates it.
A true sign of the Apocalypse is that having the #swoosh on the sleeve is no longer good enough for @NIke. Ruin the classic beauty of a classic jersey. They have bought up all the other jersey manufacturers so now their logo is as important as the Old English D?

HELL NO! NIKE
No. No. No. Get the Nike logo off the front of the jersey and move it to the arm side. Keep the front of the jersey clean.

@nike There seems to be a problem with the photo. There’s a smudge on the upper right-hand side of the jersey. It kind of looks like a checkmark or a swoop. Get rid of that, and the jersey will look great.

Please tell me these will only be used in Lakeland. Please tell me this, even if it isn't true. The Nike swoosh cheapens the look of the entire uniform. This isn't @MLS, @NBA, or @MiLB for a reason. @MLB makes PLENTY of money to avoid shilling its uniforms in this fashion.

Those look like T-ball uniforms. Detroit only needs home and road. Leave the ridiculous alts for teams like Arizona
— Jon (@jondeno2) December 9, 2019
The Nike logo stands out like a sore thumb. Not quite as classic as the previous 120 years.

Some people were a bit more understanding...
The swoosh should be on the sleeve IMO. Very disruptive on the front.

The Nike logo would be fine on the sleeve. This isn't clean at all. https://t.co/e5y1t0HKNT

...while others called attention to more important issues.
Go back to the rounded Olde English D.

Winning more games would be nice too. It'd be nice to have at least one team performing competitively.
It’s an embarrassment you guys haven’t retired Lou Whitaker’s number yet

You guys should retire Lou Whittaker jersey you have my vote.
