The Detroit Tigers are slowly paring down the number of players in major league camp, this time moving a trio of prospect pitchers down to the minors for more refinement. According to Tigers PR on Twitter, RHP Sandy Baez, LHP Matt Hall, and RHP Franklin Perez have all been reassigned, leaving the big league camp with 52 remaining players.

Baez, a right-handed flame-thrower with a 70-grade fastball listed at number 19 on our Bless You Boys prospect list, will report to Triple-A Toledo along with left-handed curveball specialist Hall, who occupies the number 25 spot on that same list. Perez, the right-handed pitcher who was the centerpiece of the Justin Verlander trade and currently No. 5 on our prospect chart, will report to Single-A Lakeland in an effort to get back on track after missing significant time last season due to injuries.

The Tigers also added some minor league depth on Wednesday, signing free agents LHP Carlos Pena, IF Carlos Mendoza, and C Sergio Tapia all to minor league contracts.
