Norfolk Tides 3, Toledo Mud Hens 0 (box)
Hens’ starter Kyle Funkhouser entered a duel with a good pitching prospect in Yefry Ramirez, and held his own on Sunday. Unfortunately his offense couldn’t provide any support. Four singles and a pair of walks was all they could muster. Meanwhile, Funkhouser allowed two runs over six innings with only two hits allowed. There were, however, five walks issued to counter the six punchouts he racked up on Sunday. Daz Cameron and Willi Castro broke through with singles with two outs in the top of the ninth, but Victor Reyes flew out to end their only major threat on the day.
Cameron: 1-4, BB, SO
Funkhouser (L, 0-2): 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 5 BB, 6 SO
Coming Up Next: Ryan Carpenter gets the call on Monday as the Hens head to Indianapolis to take on J.T. Brubaker and the Indians at 7:05pm ET.
Erie SeaWolves
The SeaWolves were washed out all weekend, and got a three-day break as a result. Logan Shore takes the mound as action moves to Bowie. Tyler Herb gets the ball for the Baysox. First pitch is set for 6:35pm ET.
Lakeland Flying Tigers
The Flygers and the Jupiter Hammerheads were also rained out on Sunday. The Palm Beach Cardinals come to Lakeland for a three-game set starting Monday night at 6:30pm ET.
West Michigan Whitecaps
The Caps’ series finale against the Great Lakes Loons was also called off due to weather. The Lansing Lugnuts are in Comstock Park for three starting on Monday at 6:35pm ET.
