Miguel Cabrera hasn’t had the best start to the 2019 season. The two-time MVP was batting .120/.241/.120 entering Thursday’s home opener, and had yet to log an extra-base hit or RBI.
We’re saying “was” because Cabrera changed that in his first at-bat at Comerica Park this season.

Cabrera’s laser of a single (yeah, a single...) scored Josh Harrison to erase an early deficit.
The Statcast numbers are bonkers, naturally.

Cabrera’s single also made history.
On the single, Cabrera ties Ernie Banks for 29th in Major League Baseball history with 1,636 RBI.

Nicholas Castellanos also scored later in the inning to put the Tigers up 2-1 heading into the second.
