FanPost Friday: If you could bring back any former Tigers player, who would you pick?

Who would make this season’s roster complete?

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

For the foreseeable future, the Tigers organization will be greeting a lot of fresh faces from the minor leagues, while also bringing on veteran players in the offseason to fill the most essential gaps. It’s the way any good rebuild works: mix the new with the old (no offense, veterans).

The current 2019 roster is a great example of this, with young blood like Christin Stewart rubbing shoulders with the newly acquired Jordy Mercer and Josh Harrison. It’s a pretty fun team so far, but it doesn’t have the mix of familiar faces that make a new baseball season feel like coming home.

With that in mind we ask you: if you could bring back ANY former Tigers player (doesn’t need to be an active player, even, could be anyone), who would you pull from the current roster and which former player would you slot in. You also need to explain why you made this choice. If you pick Justin Verlander, it’s all good, but tell us that it’s because adding a Cy Young-winning ace would add some depth to the rotation in place of say, Tyson Ross.
