Watch Brandon Dixon and Harold Castro go back-to-back in Pittsburgh

Miguel Cabrera was quite pleased.

Well we haven’t had a lot of bright spots offensively this season, so we’ll take them when they come. On Wednesday night in Pittsburgh, the offense is doing work in support of Jordan Zimmermann’s return to the rotation.

JaCoby Jones led off the game with a double, and singles from Christin Stewart, Nick Castellanos, and Harold Castro gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead before the Bucs had a chance to swing the bat.

They came back for more in the third. A leadoff single from Stewart, and doubles from Nick Castellanos and Niko Goodrum plated two runs before the mighty Brandon Dixon stepped to the dish.

Dixon may not hit much, but they sure go a long, long way when he does. This 454 foot shot was Dixon’s ninth long ball for the Tigers this season. He only has 40 hits in total. That’s a pretty good contact-to-damage ratio, to use a much missed, Ron Allen invented, non-metric. But the Tigers weren’t done.

Score one for the little guy as Harold Castro followed Dixon with his first major league home run. He’s gonna need that ball back, guys.
