On Friday afternoon it was announced that the Tigers had agreed to a multi-year contract extension with General Manager and Vice President of Baseball Operations Al Avila. While the duration of the contract was not immediately disclosed, it will take Avila beyond his previous end date of 2020.

Immediately, social media was in an uproar over the news. Some fans thought it was smart baseball, and suggested changing leadership in the middle of the rebuild would simply slow down any progress the team had made.

Others wondered if this was just too much of the same thing, and that the already slow rebuild was just going to drag out longer now.

Whichever side of the argument folks were on, they were passionate about their point of view. Even our own comments section was filled with hot takes.

So it made us wonder, how do folks really feel about the extension?
