It can be tough to justify sitting around for three hours a night for a week to watch two teams you’re not terribly invested in duel it out to see which one is considered the best for the 2020 season. While a lot of Tigers fans are undoubtedly watching the World Series, we thought it might be fun to bring you some visual highlights from the games in case you were unable to watch, so you can get a sense for some of the key moments you missed.
If we were to summarize Game One in a paragraph: a pitchers duel between Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow quickly imploded for the Rays in the fifth inning when Kevin Cash — usually quick with the hook — left Glasnow out too long and suddenly the Dodgers were up 6-1. The Rays made a bit of headway later in the game, but perplexing pitching choices and the unstoppable charismatic force that is Mookie Betts was just too much for Tampa to overcome in the first game of the series. Betts also won free tacos for America, so there’s that.
The Dodgers took Game One with a score of 8-3.
Tom Brady narrated everything to kick off the game.
