Friday open thread: Which fictional character should manage the Tigers?

Forget real people, let’s let a TV or movie character lead the Tigers to victory.

It happened in a Twitter thread, as all terrible but sometimes wonderful ideas do, the notion that Raylan Givens — the Deputy U.S. Marshal at the heart of the series Justified — would make a great manager for the Tigers. Givens is gruff, no nonsense, but never seems to lose his cool. He also has zero tolerance for foolishness. The idea of Givens on the field going toe-to-toe with an MLB umpire is nothing short of delightful.

Tony Soprano was name-dropped as a potential new owner. Seth Bullock, another Timothy Olyphant character, was suggested as a general manager. He was, after all, the sheriff of Deadwood. Anyone who can put up with Al Swearengen could probably manage some serious trades with Theo Epstein.

This opened up a whole world of potential. Would you pick a beloved and level-headed TV character like Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights? Or would you rather someone who might explode at any moment like the Hulk from the Avengers? There are so many options it’s hard to narrow them down.

So we leave it to you, in today’s open thread. Which fictional character do you think would make a great manager (or GM, or owner) for the Tigers, and why?
