Welcome back to the baseball season, Detroit Tigers fans!
Every year we at Bless You Boys countdown to the start of the regular season with heightened anticipation. Behind the scenes we’re making schedules, planning features, and getting ourselves prepared to give you — our readers — the best fan experience possible online.
2020 has been a weird year for everyone, with the long delay of the season, uncertainty of whether we would get baseball at all, and mounting concerns for player safety. Behind the scenes we struggled as well, to come up with consistent and interesting coverage.
One thing has remained steadfast through all of that, and it’s you. This community is incredible, and we can’t thank you guys enough for sticking around for the longest winter in baseball history.
Now, it’s time for my favorite Opening Day tradition of them all: it’s a chance for our readers to introduce themselves to the rest of the community. If you read and rarely comment, it’s a great time to say hello, tell us a little bit about yourself and your connection to the Tigers.
If this is your first season here with us, wow, you picked a weird one. With baseball now back in action, we can tell you that you’ll certainly be reading a lot more from us, with a regular mix of articles, shortforms, and podcasts to keep you in touch with Detroit Tigers news.
You’ve joined one of the best groups of baseball fans on the planet, and our readers and commenters are the lifeblood of this site. We do invite everyone to read a bit about our site, and also familiarize yourself with our site rules (be nice to each other!) We regularly invite readers to share their own opinions and writing with our FanPost section, so once you’re registered please feel free to turn longer comments into a full post (it’s honestly how we find most of our full-time writers).
So let’s jump into the comments and say hi to each other, then find our favorite jerseys and get ready for Opening Day!
