Tyler Alexander looks like a starter in 2022 rotation

Tyler Alexander should have an excellent chance of retaining his role in the rotation next season given the body of work he's done this final month of the season. He looks to keep hitters off-balance with a lot of variation to his approach to keep batters guessing. AJ Hinch says he loves his approach, too.

2022 rotation to me would be pretty complete with Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal, Matt Manning, Tyler Alexander, and Wily Peralta. Of course, five is really never enough, so I expect an additional free agent signing, and hope that a few of the young hurlers will also be pushing for a promotion to the show.

Joey Wentz, Alex Faedo, and perhaps Beau Brieske might be front runners for promotion in 2022, and who knows maybe someone like Ty Madden might sneak up too.

Free agent signings have me guessing. Could the Tigers go big? Would the excitement of bringing a top of the order starter in be worth it to the organization? If they don't feel compelled to sign a shortstop for big money, maybe an addition to the pitching staff of some reknown just might happen.
