Is it me or did the Tigers go short stop crazy the past couple of years? In the International market I think I count what... six hundred and forty seven? Well, maybe not that many but at least 6!
Sequera, Gil, Santana, Osorio, Sanchez, and Bastidas are all under 20 year old short stops from Latin or South America. Sequera was a rookie gulf coast MVP this past year, and Santana and Bastidas were in the States as well starting their careers.
Is it likely that most of these players move to other infield positions? Most appear to have decent offensive potential so that will be a part of their calling card to get to the majors.
Is this massive signing splurge normal or are they desperate for a short stop to rise up for the future?
