Too Bad Tork Didn't Get to Play at Tiger Stadium

Comerica Park: Today's park effects

Probably not something a lot of people want to hear, but if Torkelson were playing at Tiger Stadium rather than Comerica Park, would he have about 20 home runs instead of 5? I'd have to be able to see the trajectory of each ball hit to know for sure, but based on the comparison of the hit ball chart to the old dimensions chart of Tiger Stadium, I don't think I'd be too far off saying 20 homers versus just 5.

20 home runs versus 5 probably would take a lot of frustration off a young hitter too. Would that translate into more confidence, more joy, and perhaps an outlook to even better performance? 15 more homers, instead of outs, would put Torkelson's BA at .254. If the boost in confidence added another 15 hits besides the 15 homers, you would be looking at a .311 BA. Suddenly, the rookie is putting up All-Star worthy stats.

It's been talked about a lot, but just maybe it's time to reconsider the COPA park dimensions again.
