Whitt Merrifield and the Jays both declined his mutual option for $18M so I assume he thinks, or his agent thinks, he's worth 20M - or more probably looking for 1 last long term deal. That makes him too rich for us, especially at his age, but his skill set certainly fits our need. Would love to see him wearing the D, if for no other reason than to keep him from killing us. I haven't done the research but his career numbers versus the Tigers would put him in the HOF.
