Nov. 1: Clubs must decide whether to exercise club options on players for 2013 season.
Update: The Tigers have exercised the $ 6 million option on shortstop Jhonny Peralta and the $ 3.5 million option on right-handed relief pitcher Octavio Dotel.
Nov. 2: Clubs must decide whether to make a "qualifying offer" (about $ 13.5 million) to their free agent players in order to be eligible to receive draft pick compensation should the players sign with another team.
Status:The Tigers have announced that they will not immediately pursue free agents Delmon Young, Jose Valverde, or Gerald Laird. Anibal Sanchez is not eligible for a qualifying offer as a mid season acquisition.
Update:The Tigers, as expected, did not make any qualifying offers, and announced that they're only interested in bringing back Sanchez. Gerald Laird has since signed a two year contract with the Atlanta Braves.

Nov. 7- 9: General Managers meeting in Palm Springs, California.
Nov. 20: Teams must set their 40 man rosters in advance of the Rule 5 draft.
Update:The Tigers added relief pitchers Bruce Rondon and Melvin Mercedes, as well as shortstop Dixon Machado to the roster. Ryan Raburn was released, and reliever Tyler Stohr was outrighted to Toledo, leaving the roster with 39 players.
Nov. 30: Clubs must tender contracts to arbitration eligible players, or allow them to leave as free agents.
