L, 2-1 vs. Buffalo. Jon Link started for the Mud Hens and took the loss, despite his seven innings of two-run ball. Jeremy Bonderman made his return to the Detroit organization by logging a perfect eighth inning, striking out one batter in the process. Nick Castellanos had two hits and scored Toledo’s only run.

Danry Vasquez, Jared Reaves and Jason King accounted for West Michigan’s five hits.

But Zac Reininger blew the save in the ninth and then took the loss in the tenth, as Connecticut lost in walk-off fashion. Ben Verlander hit his second professional home run and drove in three runs. Curt Powell also drove in three runs, while Dominic Ficociello, Raphael Rhymes and Tyler Gibson all knocked in a run apiece.
