Down on the Farm: Minor League Recaps for June 6, 2013

Nick Castellanos' home run streak came to an end, but at least the Mud Hens played. Two of the Tigers' minor league affiliates -- about 1,000 miles apart, no less -- were rained out.

Rain 2, Tigers minor league system 2.

Toledo Mud Hens 8, Columbus Clippers 7 (box)

Ramon Cabrera was a home run away from the cycle as the Mud Hens racked up 14 hits. Nick Castellanos didn't homer, but he did have a double and an RBI. Argenis Diaz was the only starter who didn't have a hit, but he did walk twice. Casey Crosby walked five hitters in five innings and allowed three runs.

Erie Seawolves: PPD due to rain

Standings update: the Seawolves are 32-25, first in the Western division. The Richmond Flying Squirrels are 1/2 game back.

Lakeland Flying Tigers: PPD due to rain

Weird, it stopped raining in the early afternoon here in Sarasota and was fine for the rest of the day. Standings update: the Flying Tigers are 24-34, last in the North division. They are 8 1/2 games behind the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Great Lakes Loons 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 1 (box)

Yofrank Lopez allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings. He struck out three batters and didn't walk anyone. Julio Felix, Guido Knudson, and Chad Smith each pitched scoreless innings. The offense only had four hits, two of which came from Danry Vasquez.
